Artists at Play is thrilled to announce that the director for our production of Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them will be Jennifer Chang.
Jennifer is a director, producer, writer, and actor with an MFA from UCSD/La Jolla Playhouse and BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. A founding member and co-artistic director of Chalk Repertory, Jennifer's directing credits include David Henry Hwang Writers Institute Reading Series (East West Players); Chalk Rep Flash Festival; The Debate Over Courtney O’Connell of Columbus, Nebraska (Chalk Rep); A Winter’s Tale; Comedy of Errors (Assistant Director to Darko Tresnjak; The Old Globe, San Diego); First Annual Asian American Theatre Festival (Artistic Director, Director, Producer; UCSD). At NYU, she directed Highways, Confessions of a Penophobe, Shades of Yellow, and NYU/ TSOA Special Events: Salute (Graduation for Tisch).
Acting credits include Hell Money, Stray, Three Sisters (Chalk Rep), Sun Sisters, Fabric (CoA) The Brand New Kid, Charlotte’s Web (South Coast Rep), The Language Archive, The Joy Luck Club (East West Players), Messy Utopia (Mixed Blood Theatre), The King and I (Fulton Opera House), Daughter of a Pacifist Soldier (LaMAMA / Painted Bride Arts Center). National Asian American Theatre Company (Off-Broadway): The Dispute, Air Raid, House of Bernarda Alba. UCSD: Blood Wedding, Moliere: A Cabal of Hypocrites, La Dispute, A Dream Play, Eurydice, Full Circle.
